Complete understanding of film to HDTV transition
for dP
s, directors, and producers

I have been working as a Video Controller and Engineer for more than 20 years and have a complete understanding of HDTV, Digital, and Analog Systems for Broadcast in the United States, Europe, Asia, and Russia for single and multi-camera applications.

Because of my diverse background I have a far greater understanding of the production process and build systems that are flexible and capable of delivering the expected results.  I work closely with the Director of Photography to deliver the best pictures that fit the production genre, and I do it quickly, without delaying the production.

Customer service is the most important skill I possess.  I know how to work under difficult conditions and make sure if a problem does arise that it is diagnosed quickly and have the errant component back in production as quickly as possible.

Whether it be on location or in a studio, I am thoroughly familiar with all genres of Single and Multi-Camera production including:  Reality, Sit-Coms, Episodic, Music Videos, Commercials, Corporate, Sports, Internet, Talk Shows, Game Shows, News, Infomercials, Documentaries, Helicopter or Hidden Camera.

There is a difference between a Video Engineer, Video Painting Engineer, Digital Image Technician (DIT), Video Shader (also known as Video Controller), Engineer in Charge (EIC), and Technical Supervisor.  Each has their strengths and knowing the differences will allow you to select the right person for the specific project.  Click here for a definition of the different job titles
