The Jimmy Jib

The Jimmy Jib is the Director's creative tool to add incredible production value.  As a Jib Operator I have the single and multi-camera experience and creative skills to execute shots consistently and in a manner that demanding Directors have rightfully come to expect.

When I operate the Jimmy Jib, it is more than a camera crane.  It can be used just like a conventional dolly camera providing shots at eye level plus add the dynamics of ground hugging and overhead shots.

My Jib is mounted on my own 4-wheel dolly that provides smooth dollies when on good to excellent floors and surfaces. My accurate control of the pan, tilt, zoom, and focus, allows me to follow the scene providing the same shots as any conventional dolly camera with a 5:1 (film) or 9:1 (HDTV) lens,

To be truly cost effective, the Jib Operator must be multi-faceted, so when not operating the Jib, I am fully qualified to operate conventional dolly, tripod, hand-held and pedestal cameras.

Motivated shots, rock steady isos, the ability to provide creative shots that utilize the Jib in the most practical, creative manner, and most importantly, I follow the content of the show so I have the right shot at the right time. Directors have come to expect creativity and the ability to quickly adjust to changes with minimal fuss.

My past experience is extensive and diverse, having worked on every type of production from live sketch comedy, to improvisational to scripted single and multi-camera programs. For my credits please go to my website: www.jimmyjibs.com
